Week 2

Thanks everyone who came out last week to our first little jam! I've decided that setting up a blog will be easiest to share tunes that we want to learn, etc. Everyone needs a little space :-)

Last week Aaron and I came up with a few tunes that we thought we be good to learn for this week, and I know I'm an absent-minded person when it comes to keeping everything updated, so I apologize for how late I'm getting this out to everyone. Since we plan on meeting this Wednesday at 9.00 once again, I don't expect everyone to come to know everything about these tunes, but maybe you'll have enough time to familiarize yourselves with them!

Tunes:

Paddy Won't You Drink Some Good Old Cider - Estill Bingham - key of C

Ways Of The World - Jake Crack - key of D

Fortune - Tracy Shwarz- key of D

Folding Down The Sheets -Frank George - key of D

Backstep Cindy - key of D

Liberty - Dutch Cove String Band - key of D

Take a look at the website for the Digital Library of Appalachia, which is where all these tune excerpts came from, also www.hetzlersfakebook.com, which is a great resource for tune names and keys, etc.

Hope to see you all back at my place this Wednesday! Feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested.

Peace!

~Gina~
